They Make it Sweet.

The handsome boys hanging out with grandma and grandpa last night.

Myer is almost 9 months old, and his latest tricks include trying to stand unassisted and beginning to wave and say "Hiiii."

Ezra is in that stage of 'I can do it by myself, mom', which honestly is a stage I have been very much looking forward to, though I thought it would have come much earlier. He's only just now wanting to start to take charge of things, and it's been so cool to watch. This morning, while I was putting Myer down for his AM nap, Ezra took initiative and cleaned up all the tupperware mess that Myer had made in the kitchen-- organizing all the lids with their matching containers. I didn't even ask him to do it, he just did it.

Afterwards, with only a tiny bit of help from me (ie. plugging in the toaster) he made his own breakfast. Waffles, banana, and juice. Then he washed all the dishes that were in the sink.

I am amazed. And am having one of those mornings where I am feeling like maybe I'm not so bad at this 'raising of little humans gig' after all.

These boys are so happy and peaceful and Ezra is so respectful...

It is such a PLEASURE to be their mom. They are like icing... like frosting... the part that makes the whole cake worthwhile. :)

What a lovely view you have of motherhood.

i am encouraged and inspired every time your blog. i read regularly and it's even more exciting than awaiting the next new episode of Glee(!!!) because I know it will brighten my day and that I will be moved, but especially appreciate it when i'm having a "bad day" (or week or month-all depending on my choice of perspective for the moment)...
You are doing what I always thought I would be doing. I love being able to relate with your heart for the Lord and even though I have tons of experience in working with kids, your take on motherhood is so great to see because not only does it mirror what I've always hoped to be as a mother, but it also teaches and prepares me since I still can't imagine ever reaching that point in life and I don't know when that time with come for me.
But it's not just the fact that you get to be a mom, it's having the lovely home, having what seems like, from here, a LOVING marriage, it's the music, the art, etc.
This post was just lovely and just what I needed.
I was just going to say "thank you for sharing your life with us" but it wouldn't have said enough :)
