Goals Met, Goals Set.

Guten Morgen!

Today I am celebrating a mini-victory because I stepped on a scale this morning and discovered that I am back to my pre-preggo weight! I know this is nothing to stop the presses over, and probably not even the blog over, but I was excited and in need of the little boost of spirits. I've been feeling so BLAH lately!

I put on my sassypants... uh... dress, snapped some pics, and plan to commemorate the occasion with gobs of frozen yogurt later. nom nom.

In unrelated news, Chris and I have recently committed to paying off all of our debt in the next couple of years, which is super exciting!! It's going to take lots of dedication and sacrifice, but I know we will never regret a single moment of it in the long run!

I do a LOT better with sticking to long distance goals when I have a more tangible and visual goal set up alongside of it, so I have also decided that I am going to grow my hair while we chip away at our debt. I know this will help me in my commitment to both daunting tasks- one will give me motivation for the other and vice versa. (I've been missing my long locks lately!)

I've got my eyes on the finish line:

(me and my long lost locks, circa 2008)

Anywho...

Here's to new and exciting beginnings!! :)

Spring Fashion Week- Saturday!

Dress- Vintage thrifted
Cropped Jean Jacket- Thrifted
Gray Tights & Flats- same as every other day, haha.

Tomorrow is the last day of our Spring Fashion Week, but do not fret! There are fun things on the horizon still! First of all, I will be announcing the winner of the $100 ModCloth gift card sometime early next week-- Monday or Tuesday. Secondly, you always have next season to look forward to! Summer is not too far off, and we will do another Fashion Round-Up once it comes.

Oh, and one more question...

Whose child could this possibly be? SURELY not mine. Where on EARTH would he learn to strike a pose like that??

Ahahahah what a goober. A mini-me through and through. ;)

Until tomorrow, lovelies! I've got to get back to BOILING EGGS.

Spring Fashion Week- Friday!

Only two more days left!

Boohooo!

Here's my look for Friday:

Ruffle & Sequin Cardigan- Forever21
Poofy Tartan Skirt- thrifted
Tights- Target
Ballet Flats- GAP

Some have asked, so here are my fashion tips, in short ohdearlord make it stop:

•Dress in a way that makes you feel good. Don't be afraid to experiment until you find things that do.

•Do not waste one more moment of your life worrying about what other people think about what you are wearing.

•Only buy things that make you say "WOW!!" when you try them on. That way, anything you grab out of your closet will make you say "WOW" when you put it on. Why bother cluttering up your space with wow-less pieces?

•Have FUN with your style. Blending in with everyone else is boooooring. :)

•Find people whose style you like, and try to re-create it with what you've got! (Or head to a thrift store with their style in the forefront of your mind.) Try to keep your eyes on the people who avoid the latest 'flash-in-the-pan' trends. Personal style is not something that should change with every magazine issue that hits the stands.

•Buy versatile pieces that can be worn in many ways.

•Dark tights are your friends.

•Cute hats are your friends.

•Don't over accessorize! Understated is always better than overstated. (ALWAYS!)

•Lastly, remember that when you feel good in what you're wearing, you'll almost forget what it is that you are wearing. And then? You will look gorgeous!! When people look uncomfortable in what they are wearing, they don't look good. They just look... uncomfortable. That's the worst.

{{End crazy-lady Rant.}}

So... what are you wearing this fine Friday?

Spring Fashion Week- Wednesday!

Consider me inspired. By YOU!!

This dress is a new favorite of mine because it is easy and colorful! I bought it at a thrift store recently and it had a really long skirt on it, so, as I always do, I cut it shorter. Somehow I ended up cutting it much shorter than I wanted, though, and it was no longer a dress, but more like a long blouse. I was pretty bummed until I started playing with it and pairing it with shorts and skirts and leggings. Now, I think I like the short length more than if I had kept it longer! Hooray!

It's more versatile this way! Or something!

Here's a view of the pretty sleeves.

It has a super cute print: little black branches with turquoise berries and tiny white leaves on it. Me loves.

I never ever wore pink until just recently. I thought it washed me out too badly. But, I find myself loving it all of the sudden! So strange. Maybe I'm finally growing out of my tomboy stage. ahaha.

Blouse- vintage Lady Carol of New York, thrifted
Cardigan- Vintage thrifted
Gray Shorts- Charlotte Russe? I think?
Gray tights- thrifted
Gray Flats- Old Navy
Heart Necklace- Thrifted

What are you wearing this fine Wednesday, the last day of March?

YOU ALL ARE AMAZING.

I am loving this so much, and have really enjoyed 'meeting' some of you for the first time!! This be fashionista central- woot woot!

Here's my outfit for Tuesday:

cheeeeeese!

(these trees are blooming everywhere and they are SO BEAUTIFUL, but we discovered today that they smell like rancid fish oil if you get too close to them. Yuuuuuck! My worst nightmare!!)

Yesterday was the first REALLY nice day of the year, and by the time 7:30PM rolled around, the boys and I had been to the park THREE separate times. haha. We just couldn't get enough of the sunshine!

Needless to say, after the first trip to the park, this vintage marigold skirt was exchanged for some comfy skinnies. You can't dangle from the monkey bars in a high-waisted skirt, so it had to go. ;)

Vintage Marigold Skirt- Thrifted
White Tank- I don't remember?
Red MJ Cardigan- Forever21
Brown Flats- Dolce Vita from Ross
Leopard Hair Bow- Forever21

Post your links to your Tuesday looks below, and don't forget to wrangle your friends into joining in on the fun! It's never too late to join in... each time you post a look, you are entered into the end-o-the-week drawing!

Thanks to you all for making this such a fun and encouraging experience already! :)

Daily Me.

I am resuming my 'somewhat daily' outfit posts over on my Flickr page if you want to follow along or join in the fun!

Also, I am thinking of reading through the Bible again this year from start to finish and was wondering if anyone would be interested in joining me... I'm not sure what it would look like or how we would keep in contact about it, but I was thinking I could start up a separate blog page and break down the readings that way. Then we could chat about what we're reading/learning as we go! It might help to have others along for the ride- motivation and support and all that...

Let me know if any of you are interested so I can set something up for us!!
