Fall Fashion - Sunday!

The end of Fall Fashion week is here, boo hoo!! Thank you guys so much for jumping in this week... it is the most encouraging thing when I am reminded that kindness still exists (abundantly!) on the internet, and I feel SO lucky to have such sweet readers like you all. I hope this week has encouraged you, too!

Here's my Sunday look for Halloween. I literally just started grabbing things that I had around the house as I was running out the door to go trick-or-treating, so I had no idea I was going to end up as Minnie until moments before we hit the pavement. haha.

It actually is really sweet that I ended up as Minnie, because my (SEVENTH) anniversary is tomorrow, and these Minnie ears played a part in my hubby & I's love story all that time ago. He asked me to marry him in front of the castle at Disneyland, (I bought these minnie ears on that trip!) and then we went there for a couple of nights on our way back home from our honeymoon a few months later.

What great memories!

Ezra was Darth Vader and the only thing Myer would let us put on him without freaking out was this cowboy hat. He also brought along his stick horse. hehe. Our neighbor friends joined us as pretty princesses. What a bunch! Trick-or-treating was so much fun.

Here are the boys with grandma & grandpa. Little stud muffins.

Again, thank you so much for taking this fashion week idea and making it something really great. I will be announcing the winner of the F21 giftcard within the next day or two!! Oh, I hope it is YOU! ;)

Fall Fashion - Saturday!

Ahhh! Bad Fashion Week Hostess! I am posting this link list three hours late today, I am so sorry. My littlest one has been really ill and I have not had a chance to get my Saturday post up until now.

Today is super casual. I need to go grocery shopping and take care of my wee one.

Scarf: thrifted
GAP Maternity top: borrowed
PJ Pants: JcPenny
Chuck Taylors: Converse Store

Tomorrow is the last day! :( I always hate when fashion weeks end! You guys have been amazing, I have really enjoyed "meeting" some of your beautiful faces!! Remember that tomorrow you can post your Halloween costume (if you have one) or your regular outfit, either way! I will do the drawing for the winner of the giftcard soon after that. Happy Saturday to you all!

Fall Fashion - Friday!

The ultrasound went great! We got little pictures of our booper to bring home with us, and we still don't know whether it's a boy or a girl! Yay us! :) That's some serious self-control. I usually don't even have enough self-control to stop myself from eating the WHOLE bag of lime flavored potato chips in one sitting. haha. (But really. I just can't stop once I start.)

Here's a little peak at our sweet one!:

Needless to say, we're in LOVE!

********

Here's my Friday outfit!

Isn't this shrug crazy beans? It looks like it was made from the pelts of 100 innocent teddy bears.

I love pieces that make people go, "Huh?!". I think that fashion should be FUN because... well, you only live ONCE, right?

Right.

Thank you guys for making this week such a blast so far. You guys are QUALITY.

Fall Fashion - Thursday!

I can't believe it's Thursday already! I was thinking it would be fun if we ended the week on Sunday with a bang by showing off our Halloween costumes- if we have them of course! If not, you can post your regular outfit for that day... what do you guys think about that idea?

My outfit today was nothing too exciting, although these vintage half chaps I found at the thrift store awhile back have been fun to play around with! They kinda mix things up a bit while keeping my legs nice and warm. :)

In other news, my big ultrasound is today!! I am so excited to see my little munchkin in there, I can hardly wait! It will be SUPER hard to not want to find out the gender this time around, but that's the plan... Lord give me strength. hehe.

Three more days left! You guys are looking ahhhmazing!

Fall Fashion - Wednesday!

I don't know about you guys, but I am feeling so encouraged and inspired over here! Before this week started, I was feeling yucky and very un-cute. But you guys have helped me look at my limited preggo wardrobe with new eyes! I've had the motivation to actually get creative and try new things, which is just what I needed!

Remember- it's not too late to join in all the fun!

cue the hair swoop.

This has already been a completely fun and inspiring fashion week- thanks to YOU!! Now add your Tuesday link below and remember- it's never too late to join! The more you enter, the better chances you have at the $50 Forever21 giftcard at the end of the week! :)

Fall Fashion Week: Monday!

On your marks...get set...GO! Let the Fall Fashion Week fun begin!

My first outfit is nothing exciting, as, I assure you, none of my outfits this week will be... I am almost halfway through this pregnancy and I am down to about three pairs of pants and a few solid colored t-shirts! haha. I will try to get as creative as I can for you all. I don't believe that pregnancy fashion has to be frumpy or boring- I think that it should be COMFY while still making you feel like YOU!

Whenever my belly starts to show, I find myself dressing somewhat simply, with a fun accessory or two that makes me still feel cute. I don't know what it is... it's almost like the belly becomes an accessory, and adding too much to it just begins to look... wonky?

I'm probably overthinking this.

Here's my first look!

Now it's YOUR turn! Add a link to your specific MONDAY post below and check out all the other links as well! I'm so excited!

(The link list will be up from 12:01 AM to 11:59 PM Central time.)

18 Weeks.

(just shy of) 18 weeks

My midwife reminded me at my appointment today that my ultrasound is scheduled for next week. NEXT WEEK!! I don't know why, but I was thinking it wouldn't be until the end of November.

I experienced a moment of crisis and felt my face flush as I realized that I could potentially find out if there's a little boy or girl in there within the week, even though Chris and I have decided against finding out the gender this time around. All the possibilities raced through my mind in an instant... I could decorate the nursery if I knew what we were having! I could get all his or her clothes ready if I knew what we were having! I could focus in on the name search if I knew what we were having! I could be a good girlscout and be ultra prepared if I knew what we were having!

I had to call my husband so he could talk me down off the ledge. With just a few words from his lips, I was able to remember why we'd made the decision we had made. Waiting was just right this time around. Waiting was good. And important. And also.. fun and exciting!

As if to confirm the return to my senses, the thrift store gods opened up their bounty to me today and led me to these perfect 'gender neutral' pieces for the nursery walls:

They are painfully adorable, are they not?! Finding these two gems made me SO excited about putting together our gender-neutral nursery for this baby!!

They match perfectly with the vintage baby quilt I found right before I had Myer:

I can't wait to show you guys the process as we get this sweet little room all set up! It's going to be so fun!

The Internal Alarm Clock Gene.

The Punk Nugget, Driving a Fire Truck, Exhibit A.

So, Myer has never been one of those kids who sleeps in in the mornings. He has ALWAYS been awake before 6:00, except for a handful of rare occasions where he will "sleep in" until 6:30 or 6:45. This morning, for example, he woke up at 4:33. FOUR THIRTY THREE. In the AM!! It's like I never should have even bothered going to bed!

I heard the pitter patter of his little feet and my first instinct was to try and hide somewhere. Like, I don't know, in the closet or something? The laundry hamper? But of course, he would find me. In the pitch dark. Because of his superhuman mommy-location-senses.

I tried to stick him back in bed and pretend the whole thing never happened, but he was already WIDE awake singing "Bobby the builder!" at the top of his lungs and trying to stick his fingers in my mouth like he always does. What a lovely way to start a day, no?

Ezra was never like this... until Myer came along. He used to sleep in until 7 or 8 every single morning no matter what. But now, when he hears that Myer is up, he is up too, usually around 6:00 or 6:30. Apparently, he doesn't want to miss out on any of the 'sitting-in-the-dark-watching-cartoons' action! It's all so thrilling!

With this new baby on the way, I am feeling the urge to correct this early AM craziness. But I'm not sure how! I am at a loss! It seems like no matter what time Myer goes to bed, he is up before the sun.

Do any of you have kids that were this way? Any tips on how to get the bambino to sleep a little later? Or are some kids just wired this way? Have they located the internal alarm clock gene yet? Can I take him in for some gene-altering procedure where they set his clock back a couple of hours with some very small tweezers?

No?

If you haven't noticed already, I'm a bit delirious today.

Help me, Rhonda.

PS. I'm in LOOOOVE with this dress from Modcloth. One of you un-pregnant ladies should buy it and I will live vicariously through your adorableness:

16 Weeks.

I am almost at the point of this pregnancy where I could find out what the sex of the baby is, if we were going to do that, but I am not even thinking about that one little bit lalalalalalalalala.

Every time I am tempted with the thought of running and hooking myself up to the nearest Ultrasound machine, I grab back onto the little daydream I have in my head of what it will be like to have that information delivered to me along with my precious baby.

After all of the hard work and the intense waves of pain... after pushing through walls of IMPOSSIBLE that make me feel more like a woman with her feet planted firmly on the ground and a respect for myself and my body and God that increases with each natural birth, there will come a long awaited reward.

The world will go suddenly still and my ears will be tuned to no other words than:

"It's a.....!"

And my husband and I will look at each other and cry and I will get to hold this amazing bundled surprise in my arms and wrap my heart around the idea of him. Or her.

I pretty much think about that moment... all day long. haha.

I am feeling so much better during the days now- to the point where I keep overdoing it because I am just so excited that I don't feel like yarfing. I run around town like a crazy woman and do errand after errand after errand until I feel like a toy whose battery is dying... that hits me right about the time I need to be making dinner for my family. Oops! Sorry, family! Looks like it's frozen pizza again! But look- I got a million other things done today that didn't involve putting food on the table!

I am trying to pace myself. Pacey pacey pace.

Hrm... speaking of frozen pizza, I need to go pre-heat the oven.

:)
